The quad safari, and how muddy you will get
You meet at the track above Ovacik, get about ten minutes of instruction on the throttle, the brakes and how to take a bend, then set off in a line behind a lead guide with another guide at the back. The route runs on dirt tracks through pine forest and past a couple of villages, with a stop at a viewpoint and a break halfway.
The whole thing takes around two hours including the briefing. In summer the tracks are dry and you will finish under a fine layer of dust. After rain it is mud instead. Either way, do not wear anything you want to keep clean, and bring a bandana or buff for your face. Goggles and helmets are provided.
Can I drive, and can the kids come
- To drive your own quad you generally need to be 16 or older. Younger children ride as passengers with a parent, and there are two seater machines for that.
- You do not need a driving licence for the basic route, but tell us if you have never ridden anything similar and the guide will keep an eye on you.
- Closed shoes and long trousers if you can. Bare legs and the exhaust pipe are a bad mix.
- Sun cream, sunglasses and water. The forest gives some shade but not much.
Pickup from Oludeniz, Hisaronu and Ovacik is included and takes only a few minutes. Message us on WhatsApp to lock in a morning or afternoon slot.
